Dear Family & Friends,

Throughout the scriptures we have many different places where they describe to us what the life of a believer ought to look like. In a similar way, they even describe what our spiritual attributes should be.

One of the most familiar places is found in Galatians 5:22-23 where we read, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (NIV) The KJV refers to “patience as long suffering.” The Message Translation offers one attribute as, “The willingness to stick to things.”

I am convinced that patience and faithfulness are closely related and are both very easy to possess when life is easy. However, when life is hard, is when these attributes are truly tested. Yet, it is in the difficult times our our lives that our faith and our Christian character is authentically revealed.

In the midst of our lives, whether good, bad or in between, may we all be found faithful. May we all exhibit the type of love, joy, peace patience kindness goodness, etc, that declares our faithfulness to Christ; even when don’t see what we want to see.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor John
